We employed Nick and his team for a refurbishment of the whole ground floor of our house. This included building work in the kitchen to knock through a utility room and back wall to open up the kitchen and allow folding glass doors. Firstly Nick’s quote was competitive and he also offered a lot of practical advice, which was very helpful for a couple not very experienced with building work. All the people Nick employs were unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful and I was more than happy for any or all of them to be in the house unsupervised. They all made a big effort to leave the house tidy at the end of the day and made every attempt to keep disruption to a minimum. Nick was always contactable to discuss progress, either at the house or on the phone, and there were no hidden costs or surprises at the end. We are very happy with the quality of the work – the house looks great – and I would have no hesitation in recommending Nick to anyone considering having building work done.

Blackthorne Building fitted a new bathroom whilst also accommodating structural changes to the layout of the property. The work by Nick and the sub-contractors was carried out to a high standard and any required changes due to limitations in the building were discussed in advance. There were also a number of suggestions that we were able to take on board to enhance both the look and the performance of the bathroom. We were more than happy to leave keys with Nick for access which made things a lot easier. In addition Nick was able to sort out a few ad-hoc problems, namely clearing a blocked drain that was due to be inspected and arranging for doors to be hung elsewhere in the property. I would certainly recommend Nick as the standard of work was high and the cost was more than competitive.

We found Nick through the problemsolved website and we are extremely happy with the service he provided. Nick completely refurbished our bathroom and both he and his team were extremely reliable, honest and professional at all times. It was refreshing to have someone straight up who does what he says he is going to do so to this end I would highly recommend Nick and the Blackthorne team. I, too, have had work done by this company, they completely refurbished my kitchen. I, of course, wanted the impossible but Nick was very patient and made suggestions which enabled me to have the work done as close to my dreams as possible. The finish is beautiful and the carpenter made me bespoke units as the measurements were odd.

Brilliant Blackthorne!
Nick and his team recently finished a project in our house – knocking through a downstairs bathroom and toilet to open up the kitchen and installing a new shower room downstairs and then rearranging the space upstairs to create a bedroom, small office area and bathroom. From start to finish Nick was fantastic. When he came round to give us a quote he was friendly and helpful and his quote was really competitive. We have three young children and from the beginning Nick was thoughtful and understanding. The whole team were friendly and professional and they all worked hard to complete the job which was done to a very high standard. And Nick was always ready and willing to deal with any problems that cropped up along the way. We will definitely be using Blackthorne Building Contractors again and would recommend them to anyone. We’ve now got a fantastic new house which we love and all without too much stress – thanks Nick!

Holiday Inn and Holdiay Inn Express as Hotel Service Provider for Olympic 2012
The Holiday Inn brand of hotels will provide expertise and advice on the planning and operating of the Olympic Village. Additional Holiday Inn resources will work with London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games during the lead up to the games. Accommodation and meeting rooms will be provided throughout the build and planning period.
London 2012 Chairman Lord Sebastian Coe commented: “Providing a smooth customer experience for athletes, spectators and dignitaries throughout their time at the Games can be a key challenge for any Organising Committee.
